Yesterday, the Chairman of IFI and IFIL, Gianluigi Gabetti, underwent surgery on a
diverticulum of the intestine. The patient is under the care of Professor Felicino
Debernardi, his personal physician and department head at the Istituto di Candiolo.
Professor Debernardi is quoted as saying “It is not a neoplastic pathology,” and that
“Mr. Gabetti’s operation was completely successful and he is expected to be discharged
from hospital soon.”
